Quartz crystal packaging
Quartz crystal is the abbreviation of quartz crystal resonator. The silicon dioxide crystal is cut into very thin wafers in a certain direction, and then the two corresponding surfaces of the wafers are polished and coated with silver layers, which are used as two electrode pins for encapsulation to form a quartz crystal resonator. It has a very stable natural frequency.
Quartz crystals have the characteristics of small size and good stability, and have been widely used in military and civilian communication radios, microwave communication equipment, program-controlled telephone exchanges, radio comprehensive testers, mobile phone transmission stations, high-end frequency counters, GPS, satellite communication, remote control mobile devices, etc. They are mainly used in microcontroller clock circuits and have also been widely used in microcomputer chip clock circuits of air conditioners.
